Santiago do Chile

Central Post Office building - Plaza de Armas - Santiago.
Santiago has a lot of buildings of french influence, and this is one of the most beautiful (in my opinion).

Cathedral of Santiago -  exterior - Plaza de Armas

Cathedral of Santiago - interior (one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen!)

Central Market - fish market, where I had the most delicious shell fish soup!

Intendencia de Santiago - Plaza la Moneda.
This is another building of french influence architecture that lays hidden in the corner of the Republic Palace square.

Colombia

Cathedral at Zipaquira, a pueblo near Bogota where we can find the Salt Cathedral. This one, however, is not made of salt: it is the colonial church built by the Spanish. It is a very old and quite simple cathedral, which is in the center of the main city's square.

Also in the main square of Zipaquira there are other government buildings, all in a mix of colonial style architecture and strong caribean colors.

At the cathedral's door I found these wood boards with pieces of paper, some scrapped, some new, where we can read the announcements of who passed away, and the services times.

Cartagena de las Indias, the pearl of Colombia! It is a beautiful picturesque city in the Caribe, with interesting buildings of spanish influence. This is the tower of the Cathedral

Church of San Pedro de Claver, at the heard of Cartagena de las Indias - Colombia

Islas del Rosario - Closest Islands to Cartagena. Beautiful beaches.

Argentina - Patagonia - Glacier Perito Moreno

The Perito Moreno Glacier is one of the only 3 glaciers in the world that is growing. It accumulates more snow that it melts, so every year comes forward a bit more and eventually touches land. Because it is so close to land it is easy to see and visit. We can take a boat and get to the wall. We see pieces of ice falling down - the ice bergs - and we navigate among them. It is just so beautiful!

Argentina - Patagonia! The most amazing place in the world!

Glaciar Upsala and the Andes

The Glaciers are formed as a result of the snow that accumulates in the top of the Andes and gets compressed by the weight of that snow. At the bottom ice is formed, and that is the glacier. Glaciers grow and at the same time retract as they unfreeze with the heat. The Upsala Glacier is melting faster than it accumulates, so it is retracting, and forming a lake of bright blue water that is still trapped in the middle of the mountains! In a couple of years the glacier will retract so much that the lake will join with another bigger lake (the Argentina lake). Meanwhile, while that small lake is trapped, you need to climb the mountains to see it, and it is the most amazing view that I have ever seen!

Buenos Aires, Argentina - a city full of contrasts!

I was simply amazed with Buenos Aires! A city full of contrasts, with old beautiful buildings arising in the middle of new sky scrapers, contrasting its worked stones with the cold mirror glasses that reproduce the blue sky.

The contrasts are also seen in the old neighborhoods, with graffiti covering the most ancient buildings.

Baker Library - Harvard Business School

Baker Library - this is the main Library at Harvard Business School, an incredible source of great knowledge in this amazing campus.
In front of it lays a long yard, with a green lawn where rabbits and squirrels play during Spring, and that is covered in white in the snowy Winter.

Peet's Coffee & Tea - Harvard Square

This is Peet's Cafe, in Harvard Square, Cambridge MA, a local coffee shop with a homey feeling, serving premium quality coffee and tea, and with those cookies that make us feel so comfortable in the snowy days.
With large windows with chairs looking to the outside, this coffee house invites us to stay for a morning or an afternoon, an hour or just some minutes, and enjoy its good ambiance.
